On the technical front, a few green shoots are now appearing. Bollinger Bands show that the previous daily candle closed above the lower band at $78.65, which is often the first whisper that a local floor is forming. Meanwhile, the Stochastic Oscillator is parked deep in oversold territory, and its lines have just crossed, hinting that a corrective bounce\u2014or at least a breather\u2014is overdue.<\/p>\n

The On-Balance Volume (OBV) Indicator is also flashing a glimmer of hope. It bottomed on June 17 and has been inching higher ever since\u2014a clear signal that the selling tide may be turning and buyers are starting to test the waters. If this trend holds, it could open the door for a short-lived rebound within the larger downward channel.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But don’t get too comfortable: the fundamentals are still calling the shots. The US-Iran peace deal and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz have hit Brent crude like a sledgehammer, sending prices back to levels not seen since early March. Yes, it will take time for supply chains to fully normalize, but the over 85 million barrels waiting to be released from the Persian Gulf have already cast a dark shadow over the market. Add to that the gradual return of regional production and rising export activity, and the headwinds only grow stronger.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Despite dwindling reserves at Cushing<\/a>, the sheer weight of returning supply remains the elephant in the room. This makes any technical bounce look shaky and short-lived in the medium term.<\/p>\n
